I'm about to take a trip that we should both be taking. The chance to see Aretha Franklin in concert would have meant a guaranteed trip for Carol and me. I'm making the trip on my own - because it's something I just need to do. I don't expect a miracle cure, don't expect to suddenly feel better after this - it's just another small step on the long journey that still lies ahead. I'm scared and apprehensive about going - and that's because I'm on my own now. I hope I can "enjoy" myself - there will be a lot of emotion I'm sure - the last time we were there was 2006 with the kids - that turned out to be our last family holiday.
